Who here doesn't believe in Evolution?

I actually met someone with a science degree today who doesn't believe in evolution and KNOWS that all humans came from Adam and Eve.:O

"Why are there still monkeys today if humans evolved from monkeys?" is a common belief amongst creationists. Who here doesn't know the answer to this?

Who here doesn't think that evolution is the best explanation for all the different living species on Earth today?

Bob, I think you need to differentiate between Christians and Fundamentalists.  Fundamentalists may believe that the world was literally created in 7 days 6000 years ago; that Noah was able to take a male and female of every single species on earth into a big boat and keep them all fed and watered in it for 40 days, and that Methuselah really did live for 900 years.Most Christians, however,  acknowledge that these stories, like much of the Old Testament are allegorical.

So is Jesus allegely getting born of a virgin, dying or resurrecting an allegory or it actually happened? Christianity as most people know it disappears if it didn't happen. 

I considered the fundamentalist the real true Christians. 🙂

and now, I'm going to bed, but before I go, Bob .... please don't keep saying 'Christians believe  this or that'.  Please give a reference to your statement ... ie "I spoke to a 7th Day Adventist  and they believe ..." or  "I spoke to a Baptist and they believe ......"  or "I spoke to a Catholic and they believe ...'  - because when you lump us all together and say "Christians believe ......." you are just making way too much of a generalisation - in fact you are actually displaying your ignorance.

The fact is no two Christians believe in the same thing about the same religion. Everything is open to interpretation. Anything goes.

Actually, it was over a year .. but whose counting...

The whole basis of the 6,000 years calculation is based on the ages of each man, and when he sired his sons ... and how long he lived before he sired a son ... and so on ..... so, if you removed the longevities as stated, the 6,000 years becomes much less.

Having said that, of course, please don't confuse me with someone who believes in the creation being a literal 7 days. The creation that I believe in lasted for many millions of years.

A lot of people see the beauty in the world, nature, music, wonder of the universe and call that feeling of awe, God. "Pantheism promotes love and care of Nature, reverence of the Cosmos, concern for human and animal rights, and positive affirmation of life."

It's just how people define God.
