Who is being bombarded by phone scammers

 yesterday i was getting them every 20 mins  computer scam one

this afternoon i had them again so i rang our phone provider

and they have put a block in place so no overseas  callers

also they guy told me they the phone scammers get aggressive

i have no idea because i did not let them get to that stage

I am on do not call also. It only works with most real businesses. The scams are computers calling the numbers.

the real businesses that call you over and over and ignore do not call, tend to be solar power and Optus.

silent/unlisted numbers and do not call register does not work for scammers 😄 

Its not like they care about rules and regulations. Its an auto dialler. You have a number? You may get dialled. Simples

We havent had the windows for a while after what OH started calling them. i can put up with prety hard language but he even had me blushing.

 i had a friend call me tonight she said she was feeling scared after she had a call from a scammer asking her if she would be home next week.

i told her to ring her phone provider in the morning  and do the same as i did

we are also on the do not call register we still get the odd call but not as many as we used to

until the computer scam

The Do Not Call registar does work. You get called, call or email them, they need an amount of complaints before they can act. That's for the Solar one. 

Any company that you may have a relationship with have leeway to call, as do any charities.

Anyone you don't already have a relationship with, check if your computer safety is up to date.

Oh, and even if your not on the DNC register, tell them you are. Better still, ask for their name and the company they are calling for and then tell them you're on the register. They'll hang up.

The solar ones that call me, keep doing it. They change their company names. That is how they get round it, I do report them.

I am glad that some do stop it.

Optus called my mobile for nine months before they stopped. The DNC sent me a form letter saying people represent themselves as Optus, when they are not. I had to keep telling them, that the phone numbers I was being called from, were official 

Optus numbers. They finally did something.

but being on the register does stop most calls. Yes, charities are exempt. I think also, research companies e.g. Political surveys. They call, and they say they are exempt.

Only for legitimate businesses. The people trying to steal your money and illegaly access your computer dont care, and probably dont even know, about the Do Not call Register.

I get a lot of telemarketing calls. These people openly violate the DNC regulation. We should come up with a petition to ban all these violators! They don't follow the rule anyway.

For now, what I do is report their phone number to http://www.callercenter.com for others to block them ahead.

After multiple phone calls a day from "Windows" ,  I decided to have some fun, as nothing else was working.

When the next Indian windows tech called..... cough cough.....I introduced myself, as though I had called her, and asked if she would

participate in a shoe survey....promising it would not take long....to my surprise...., she did......I think I came up with over 30 questions

about shoes...apparently ballet flats are her favourite.......then thanked her for her time and hung up....lol

It actually took several months before my next..... with him I told him I had called him to offer him a job......I described his job with the

Promise of big bucks........I was very insistent and pushy.....lol.... he hung up!.....how rude........... that was a few

years ago now...touch wood...
