First-up is Jacob Langston (Landon Giminez), an eight-year-old boy who suddenly wakes up in a rice field in China after drowning in Arcadia thirty-two years earlier.
Immigration agent J Martin Bellamy (Epps) returns the boy to dumbfounded parents Henry and Lucille Langston (Kurtwood Smith and Frances Fisher).
That sets off a chain of events which leads Bellamy to try and unravel a mystery that seems to defy logic.

Thanks, that's what I thought but I think one could also put their own interpretation on the end. A bit like Fight Club.

"The Returned" is being screened on SBS2 at exactly the same time as the premiere of "Resurrection" on Channel 7 (which is Tuesday nights at 2030). Episode 7 will be shown this coming Tuesday, March 25.
You can still catch episodes 5 and 6 at http://www.sbs.com.au/ondemand/program/1066/The-Returned but be advised that ep.5 expires in just 4 days. The entire series is also currently available on DVD at the ABC Shop.

Thanks heaps. Is it the original show that's been copied by Hollywood and called Ressurection? somehow they just don't have the same cachet as the originals.

I don't believe that "Resurrection" is a direct rip-off from "The Returned" but from what I've read about it to date, there are apparently some similarities. I guess it'll become somewhat clearer after next Tuesday night.
