Who thinks Simon Crean would make a good Labor leader??

i agree he has shown a great deal of intestinal fortitude but NO he had a go and did not impress me at all as a strong leader even tho I do not vote labor, I have gained some respect I did not have for him prior to him standing up against this control freak we have as a PM. Hoping he will have some say and be able to give her some advise ( if she listens)

he is ok...not a huge fan but he seems to stand up more for what the ALP is about...

As an ex-Labor member, and a current Greens member, I would rather vote for Abbott (godhelpme) than Crean.  

Guts?  I'm sure you've read elsewhere the theory that he was acting for Gillard in calling Rudd out to stand for the leadership position ... that wasn't guts if that was the case.

In another story, he hadn't spoken to Rudd in two days, hadn't consulted with him about what he was planning to do ... that's not guts, either ... it's plain rude, and possibly destructive of Rudd's potential challenge (see above).

i don't think he thinks he has any hope of that. i think he was a bit off the mark with the method he used to draw rudd out though.

Anybody would be better than JG, she has no Labor values. Crean does & he's a better man than she'll ever be :^O

Katy you are 100% correct on the Crean and Gillard saga... 

He knew 100% what he was doing and so did Gillard... 

I really don't care what he did.... I think he decided to do it for the "good" of the party... what disgusted me was he did it on a day that should have been left to the people of forced adoptions. 

To me that was pretty low.
