I suspect youd find most of the objections would come from other men. 

It's Ok for women  to wear mini skirts to work because men like to look at women wearing mini skirts - it makes them feel all macho and blokey.

Looking at a man wearing a mini skirt though is .... well .... a bit kinky; and "we blokes" can't have our colleagues thinking we might be "that way inclined"
