Working on monuments that may never be built.

We all want a Rolls Royce NBN & also a rolled Gold education system, put in a new billions of dollars health care scheme & the ever shrinking pie is swallowed whole.

Nobody can argue against any of it & if you dare you're castigated & set upon, (see the Myer CEO). Gillard wedged & Abbott conceded.

What we want to know is, will the paltry $3 billion the levy raises go any further than the NDIS trials running at the moment?

Will the incoming gov be left with massive promises, made just weeks before an election, in very shaky economic times & a budget deficit that is touted to be in region of $23 billion & counting.

What we want is a full & transparent costing for these promises before the 14the Sept.

It's not for me to rain on the euphoria of people with disabilities, far from it, can Gillard & Abbott promise the same?

I read your link & I can agree with you that Qld is in a bad place financially but from my point of view this is to be sheeted home to the previous labor governments.

The 1000 construction jobs,, cut back on current leases & being built by private enterprise confuses my as to why you are upset.

What do people who oppose the NBN propose instead? What is your alternative?

There are many areas in Aust that don't get ADSL2 and other services available in bigger populated areas, are they supposed to stay in the dark ages forever, while the rest of the country/world moves ahead technology wise?

PCT: "And in Queensland we are getting a $650 million  monument to the state government."

"The $650 million building would be constructed by the private sector at no cost to taxpayers"

D9275: "wow!!  that seems like a big waste of money in these tough times PCT."

????? what exactly does "at no cost to taxpayers" indicate?.

'at no costs to taxpayers' means the landlord builds it and the govt leases it back from them ..

"at considerable ongoing cost to taxpayers' 😉
