Yumi Stynes under fire again, this time over tweets about One Direction during The X Factor
YUMI Stynes has copped plenty of backlash for her controversial remarks in the past. So you've got to ask, hasn't she learnt her lesson?
The Mix 106.5 radio co-host hit Twitter last night during The X Factor, taking aim at the members of One Direction, who were performing on the show.
Stynes took to the social networking site while the penultimate episode aired at 7.30pm, making the following comments about the young members of the boy band.
"Stynes came under fire in February 2012 while discussing a photo of Victoria Cross recipient Ben Roberts-Smith on Channel 10's The Circle with veteran journalist George Negus.
"He's going to dive down to the bottom of the pool to see if his brain is there," Stynes commented about a photo of the war hero in a pool.
An online hate campaign, including physical threats and threats against her children, ensued.
Stynes and Negus later publicly apologised to Roberts-Smith.
Stynes declined to comment on the tweets when contacted by news.com.au today."

Dont radio hosts like that 'push the limits' to just to get attention? If she didn't say anything outrageous her name would never be mentioned in the media.
Same as Kyle S.

I was talking to my daughter about her during my recent Mackay holiday.
She said Yumi Stynes would never be welcome there again after the insulting comments she made about Mackay and it's residents back in 2004/2005
I found an old news article about it:
Mackay insult was a joke: V defends Yumi Daily Mercury
CHANNEL V management has assured claims made by presenter Yumi Stynes about Mackay were all in good humour and ''tongue-in-cheek''.
They were responding to yesterday's front page article on Ms Stynes and her comments about Mackay being a ''s...hole'' and how the people here were ''deranged''.
The comments were made on The Secret Life of Bus, a behind-the-scenes look at the Channel V/Billabong Bus Detour which took place in February last year. The program aired Wednesday night on cable TV.
Channel V general managerJacquie Riddell said the station absolutely loved Mackay, and that was why they intended to return in March.
''It was certainly not ours or Yumi's intention to cause offence to the good people of Mackay,'' Ms Riddell said.
''Her comments were made tongue-in-cheek and her delivery is humorous,'' she said.
''That's what she does, she makes people laugh, she is an entertainer.''
Ms Riddell said the tour poked fun at many towns and people along the way, but it should not be taken seriously.
And to Cr George Christensen, Ms Riddell said: ''We apologise for it being misconstrued, but not for being humorous.''
Although Ms Stynes was unavailable to say anything further to residents yesterday, Mackay people had plenty to say to her.
Most responses received through this paper were from locals voicing anger against her remarks.
Some, even agreed with some of what she said, but were not impressed with how she said it.
Ms Riddell said they did not think Mackay people were pig killers. She also gave her best wishes to efforts to save Blackie the pig.
Ms Stynes will return to Mackay with this year's bus Detour in March.
