Hi, we want to upgrade our caravan to a 19 -20ft full height van, but have to update the duelcab of some sort.
At the moment have a poptop 17.6 van. okay with the all wheel drive we have.
went to the Farm Fest show in Toowoomba , and looked at all the new 4x4 duelcabs around.
we are after a diesel auto . must pull 3000, to 3500.
gets more confusing the more we look. I wonder if there are any caravaners out there, to give us any hints, what to buy or not to buy.
Thank you.

Hey OP have a squiz at the Colorado too. I have the 6sp Auto Diesel 2.5l 4x4 - they have a full dual-cab if you need it or the 5-seater variant (that I have) with reverse-opening back doors - but wouldn't want to sit someone large in the back for a long trip. I think they have just upgraded the motor in a new version - however mine is quite responsive and pulls 3.5T if you need. I get about 9l/100km (not towing) on a rural run so it's fairly economical. I'm pretty happy with it.
Cheers and good luck

We bought a BT50 to pull our 20ft van, which it does easily.

International CXT.
That'll pull it.

Didn't have much luck at killing that bug, thanks for all the info, the hi lux is out, as it is only 2.500 pulling.
And the land cruiser ( just a tad on the dare side)
Yes we also like the BT 50, got a quote on vw amorac, but was told by another dealer these were not too good, as he used to sell them. 8 speed box.
What we would like and what we can't get is the land rover discovery.(on the dare side also)
Nisson narva, is on our list , mitsubish seems to be the cheapest.
We have a Ford territory at the moment, so hubby is fussy now with comfort.
Will go out one day and do a test drive on some.
We know the exact van we will get, but the pulling vehicle is the problem. Maybe the last we buy getting older.
Maybe not buy new, but would have to be only about 2yrs old.
thanks once again everyone.

the new BT50's are huge, more like an F250.
I imagine they would be hell trying to park in a tight space or a shopping centre.
We like our mazda's

Yes hubby would have one, also any 250 stick on a fifth wheeler, and wouldn't see us for dust.
He used to be a trucker.
One problem, those dam lotto numbers never come up.
