An elderly woman, suffering from cancer, was bashed and robbed in a Nambucca Heads street on Monday night.
The 74-year-old woman was with her 90-year-old husband in Ridge Street about 7.15pm on their way to a flower show.
They were approached by a young man who allegedly grabbed at the woman’s handbag. He punched her in the face, breaking her nose.
Due to her husband's advanced years and frailty he could not help fight off the young man.
The woman held on to her bag but the offender allegedly pushed heavily on the bag, causing the elderly woman to fall and subsequently breaking her shoulder.
Police said the handbag, with a purse containing 40 cents and a camera, was taken
The local facebook vigilante group think they know who did this.... there will be trouble today at the local aboriginal mission known as "The Mish"

It is the bsiest street in Nambucca.
My 82 year old MIL decided to go to the flower show and traversed 80 metres of Kent street and 100 metres of Ridge Street with her walking frame from the Pacifica aged facility on her own up and back
.......... never again..... never

The only thing I admire John Howard for, was his courage to initiate strong gun laws, to keep them out of the hands of poorly educated, vindictive, vigilante groups.
