Hi folks. I've just bought a box of coloured pencils, and will be working on my first drawing soon. I'll post the completed work here. Would love people to post their art here for us to see. Doesn't matter what type of art - drawing, painting, photos/photo manipulation, cake decorating, quilting, poetry, origami, whatever. Let's have some fun and show our creativity. ๐

I found an art program I think will be good for my daughter who is 14. Its called Artrage 4. It's $50 and I can download it. What would be even better is I saw a tutorial on youtube where a guy had a hp touch screen computer and he was using this program with a paint brush. So would love to get her something like that, but all in time.
Artrage seems to be from something she can use now and has the same type of things as the more expensive difficult programs so it can lead on for her to understand them later on.
Thanks for the advice, and I've told her that using the paint program that comes with windows is not very good and she will have more fun with this new one when I download it for her over the weekend.

DDB - I like your painting - there would be a lots of people who couldn't produce a painting like that.. I would be one of them.. probably wouldn't been able to get any further than painting some blue sky.
roserobin - I really like your Eye Spy quilt with the black borders around every block of 6 squares. I have some fabric to make one..may get done one day.

DDB that is fantastic, it's not awful at all, why would you think that? It has character and is going to be something special by the time you have finished with it. Great that you have found your art kit.
Love the birds Pepe, beautiful.
Rose Robin, that quilt is fabulous, what a treat for a child that is.
I've started the Lillicat quilt tonight, now that's going to be interesting I hope, because it's "design as you go", nothing planned, just as it comes ... :^O

For me, how long it takes to make a quilt depends on what's in the stash .. but about two weeks to finish the top, and then anything goes for the backing and batting .. ;\

I am not hi-jacking a thread, but I would like to issue a (friendly) challenge to Amy (DDB)
I would like to see us both give it a go.
In 7 days, I will post what I have done - You do the same.
No judgements, just a bit of a nudge to get you going Amy coz you seem to lack confidence the exact same way I do. We are amongst friends here and I reckon no matter what we manage to produce, we'll get a hi 5 for trying.
