Hi folks. I've just bought a box of coloured pencils, and will be working on my first drawing soon. I'll post the completed work here. Would love people to post their art here for us to see. Doesn't matter what type of art - drawing, painting, photos/photo manipulation, cake decorating, quilting, poetry, origami, whatever. Let's have some fun and show our creativity. ๐

This is a tablecloth we made together for our table. It was a nightmare getting all the blocks/squares into their correct positions so that each person has a different 'scene' to look at.
It doesn't have batting/wadding in the middle like quilts do, but rather, we lined it with heavy linen that has a green marbled pattern on to represent the forest and wilderness of home. Mr. Tasfleur was absolutely wonderful checking every corner was straight and meeting perfectly.
It's covered with heavy clear plastic so that the cloth never has to be washed which over time might fade the intense colour; nice and easy to wipe down and keep gleaming.
Sorry I can't get the whole thing because I had to stand on the stepladder ... :^O

An Australian friend who loves cats received this one for her birthday ... :-x
It was from a commercial pattern, but I did change the cats and the design to make it into a large window. I made a lot of mistakes but managed to cover them up somehow.

Cosmo, lovely work, I'm stunned that you could do that after a week.
Fleur, those pieces are awesome ... did I mention I can sew on a button ... but I'd rather buy a new item of clothing?
Oh, I couldn't find a coaster, but I did find a heart shaped box lid and had a little play with my paint pens to show you how it could look ... but it appears my desk top camera card converter has finally carked it.

Katy, I'm not so good with sewing on buttons; Mr. Tasfleur says that my button matching is tragic ... :_| .. he's right .. ! It's quite an art to get the right size and colour that 'makes' the garment, so usually, I ask him to choose them for me and he is happy to wander off to the fabric shop to match them up for me, he's gorgeous and very supportive.
Cosmos, not exactly awesome, I make so many silly mistakes and spend half the time repairing them, but one day, one day ....... !!
The project I have going now is a big wall hanging that will end up as a backdrop for a design I have been working on for months but couldn't quite bring together until recently, so it's come out of the computer and now into reality at last.
It will be 'wilderness' with Canadian geese flying south that have been made at a gallery here for us attached so a combination of metal sculpture and fabric. The artist is brilliant at what he does.

This is a big wallhanging I made some time to a commercial pattern, but again, I changed most of it as I couldn't relate to most of the appliques originally for it. However, the designer stated that quilters should definitely put/add their own ideas.
I didn't want the butterflys, so I added appliqued animals that I love at the bottom, and machine embroidered some of the other birds, therefore, changing the general 'mood' of it. It took forever because I wanted to put each applique on individually rather that how the author does it. It's called "Forest Hollow" and if you would like to google, you'll see who the author is (MR). She's fabulously talented and has designed many things like this, each one her own exquisite design.

Loving the variety of work here, from the slick computer generated design work to the crafty art quilts.
I was pretty surprised myself what I achieved in a week (actually 4 days) myself. But it was so inspiring working with experienced sculptors, I did a master class with Silvio Apponyi so there's probably shades of Silvio's work in my little bird and he did have a couple of bashes at my bird bath too ๐
I have lots of bits and pieces around the house that I've done over the years, sold a few, given some away. I don't do much 'art' these days, full time work, mothering and internet obsession has alot to answer for.
