art thread?

Hi folks. I've just bought a box of coloured pencils, and will be working on my first drawing soon. I'll post the completed work here. Would love people to post their art here for us to see. Doesn't matter what type of art - drawing, painting, photos/photo manipulation, cake decorating, quilting, poetry, origami, whatever. Let's have some fun and show our creativity. ๐Ÿ™‚

No Moonlight, not yet, it's awful ... but tomorrow in broad daylight, I'll do it again and it will most likely be better, then I will ...  :8}

Thanks, Debra, it's a thatched place-mat ... I looked at using miniature bricks, but it was going to make it too heavy.  Finding bases for miniature scenes is a difficult job ...

Why are there fireworks going off here ??? OT, I know, but why?

I am SO inspired by this thread - one of my favourites on CS for a long time! (Thanks Moonlight!)

I have a caravan FULL to the brim with arts and crafts supplies. My problem, much like DDB, is inspiration. Sadly I was standing at the back of the line when they handed out imagination. ๐Ÿ˜ž

But thanks to the link someone posted above to the art forum, I had a browse through some of those works and I am now inspired to turn my very bland toilet into a - tah dah!!! - work of art. I am going to have a go turning it into an underwater mural.  I can't paint or draw to save my life, but I reckon I can do the background and the coral, then I have a massive wall art sticker of a coral/fish scene which I can stick around the bottom walls.  I also have some 3D fish that I can hang on the walls.  Okay, it's cheating a widdle bit (okay, a lot), but as it's SUCH a large project, can I be forgiven?

So that's going to be my -extremely ambitious- work, if I may also participate in the two week challenge?  Unfortunately we are still flooded in after a week, so I can't get out to get any wall paints at the moment (and can't see me getting very far with my meagre painting supplies in the 'van), so may not be able to get it all finished in two weeks, but could post progress photos?

Monsters, I'm in the process of transforming my balcony into a grotto (or a womb room).  Candles, beads, pretty things, plants, nice colours ... it's tiny, but it's becoming welcoming ๐Ÿ™‚

I dunno Debra ... fireworks on March 2 ... not even Women's Day ... they've stopped now.

Miniatures are fun.  ATM I'm also working on  There Was An Old Woman Who Lived In A Shoe ...
