art thread?

Hi folks. I've just bought a box of coloured pencils, and will be working on my first drawing soon. I'll post the completed work here. Would love people to post their art here for us to see. Doesn't matter what type of art - drawing, painting, photos/photo manipulation, cake decorating, quilting, poetry, origami, whatever. Let's have some fun and show our creativity. ๐Ÿ™‚

Gill, I like all your work. Sometimes it's hard to tell which are done on the computer and which are done by hand. ๐Ÿ™‚

soul, if your "new method" involves flinging or flicking paint, I think a chimp or an elephant came up with the idea about 10 years ago, to critical acclaim. Even sold some paintings too, if I remember correctly. ๐Ÿ˜›

Then there's Jackson Pollack ...

My project for today/this week is making a wind chime ... mainly out of jewellery findings.  So far, I have necklace memory wire for the main part, beaded, and with the "chimes" hanging down from wine glass/earring rings.  Next, I need to find my bracelet sized memory wire for the insert with different chimes hanging down.  Then I need to connect the two pieces of memory wire with ring pins (dunno if this will be possible).

I drew a pic of the fruit salad to help me to get a sense of proportion for the painting. Blah.

You are getting so much better moonlight. I wish I was more artistic but I'm not.  When I saw the original pic I thought no way! but you have already done well.  I'd love to know how artists paint that light reflection from glass and also from the fruit.

light reflection?    decide which direction the light is coming from and highlight areas. e.g. if the light is coming from the left, as in the fruit picture, you'll notice the highlights are all on the right of the objects?   Just a matter of observation really.

I understand that Kengillard, but what I man is how do you actually paint light.  I am not an artist ๐Ÿ˜ž

Thanks Joono. I had made 5 attempts to draw the fruit salad, and the 5th one(pictured) turned out pretty good.

Gill, how is your new camera coming along? I'll be buying a camera myself soon, just to take pictures of my art, most probably a cheap nikon.
