Hi Joannie xx that looks like a border collie, or a mix of one?
We took care of one for twelve months a few years ago now while we tried to find her a new home because she had been badly treated and abandoned.
When we first took her in, it was hard to see that she actually was the real thing, but once we had her groomed, and the vet checked her out, vaccinated, wormed and the whole shebang, she just bounced back to normal and was gorgeous. Even our two Siamese cats we had at the time loved her even when she couldn't help but round them up instinctively ....
We called her "Rainbow" and eventually, we found her a home on a 50 acre farm with a Mum, Dad and two children where she lived out her life very happily. When we first rescued her, she was about 9 years old and lived until she was 15.

Wow Tas that's a good age for a border. I just love them and the way they try to round everyone up. Over the park they are a joy to see rounding up the other dogs. Lovely that you took that girl in.

Bright, she was a wonderful dog and had such a bad life before we fostered her, we just couldn't leave her in those conditions even though we had never had a dog before. She was beautiful and we knew somewhere there was a real place for her.
Friends helped us find her forever home, but while she was with us, it gave us some wonderful insight.
Eventually, we are going to get a dog, most likely a Bsenji, a miniature Schnauzer or even a medium sized poodle.

Tas have you thought of looking on Petrescue.com.au when the time comes? Sorry but I'm on my soapbox here about saving
rescue dogs. This is a great site and there is just about every breed represented there who are looking for love.
Anyway let's know when you get your dog so we can give it a cyber hug. .
(sorry to be a bit off topic)

Definitely NOT a story of love......

I don't do Val Day, any more than I do Halloween.
Most nasty stories have been glorified and romanticised over the years, but I am with the OP, if you can't show the one you love how you feel every day, then a bunch of flowers or a box of choc's once a year doesn't mean squat!

Absolutely Bright, that is the first place we will be looking for a dog. I've heard that some of those breeds are surrendered to shelters so we'll definitely rescue one again for sure.
It won't be until our two lovely older cats are no longer with us though, they tolerate a tiny little dog that comes to visit with a friend, but they make it very clear that it's "their" house and tease the poor little thing but they don't hurt it; the little dog hides under the couch from them ....

Not sure, My dad's dog and he isn't sure. Her name is Cloe. She's always trying to cheer me up when i'm down. Follows me everywhere, tries to get me to play with her. I bet shes missing me since I've been up here. I don't know why she likes me so much, I try not to encourage her.
