Unfortunately Abbott was preformed (as you say) in the 1950s, and not very well.
His parents were not concentrating very hard at the time, because they produced a dud.
His only policy is to take us back to those times of his formation.

All I heard was "It's Labor's fault, it's Labor's fault, it's Labor's fault, it's Labor's fault".
And, Queenslanders were absent-minded on Saturday. Well. let them stay in that daze for another 20 months.

But the blame is very well deserved. waiting for the blame game from Paperchick, wont be a long wait ๐

Brilliant strategy adopted by Tony for this speech. This one takes the old say things twice, say things twice to a new level.
At the halfway point the adjudicator called for questions and asked the journos to keep them short. Tony quickly grasped the mathematics of the situation: short questions = many questions = more opportunities to stuff up. So he dragged every answer out for all it was worth, rehashing stuff he'd previously rehashed in the speech, blaming Labor (state and federal) at every opportunity, dodging and weaving, rambling on and doing almost anything but providing a concise, relevant answer.

I noticed some smirks from those who might be imminent contenders.

He does that because his audience is dumber than him, no question about it.

With a few too many... let me make it crystal clear's thrown in!
Mrs A.. looked like she was about to cry at one stage?
(bored to death?)
The only person I saw nodding in agreement was Joe Hockey, even then he had a very grim look on his face.
