The man who NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian had a "close personal relationship" with for five years resigned from Parliament in disgrace in 2018.

Ms Berejiklian today confirmed at a corruption inquiry that she had been in a relationship with Daryl Maguire since 2015 until a few months ago.

That's the bit that struck me. She had to sack him, effectively, for being a crook, but didn't feel continuing a relationship with him was inappropriate.

Currently, there is no suggestion she acted illegally, but she has certainly shown a lack of sense.

Exactly.   People do show lack of sense when they're infatuated or hasn't anyone here ever been  infatuated ?????     Her biggest mistake so far imo   is choosing such a slime ball to be infatuated over.  Of course those with political stones to throw will throw them hard.

Until it's been confirmed that she's done something wrong, her only crime is that she fell for the wrong bloke. I'm sure we've all done that and have some regrets. But having poor judgement in her relationships is not a reason to have to resign from her position in politics.
