Guess I have far better things  to do with my time, like pottering in my garden etc ๐Ÿ™‚

I wish I could potter in my garden....it would be much more fun than being stuck indoors with mobility problems.

At least taking the mickey out of the scammers keeps my mind active if not my body.

I am recovering from a badly broken leg ( spent 2 months on the lounge unable to even get to the loo ), so I am quite up in mobility probs   ..... I need to use my walker when I potter and have to frequently sit down and rest but at least it gets me outdoors for a while

I just cant be bothered playing ph games with anyone, I just find it a total waste of my time

That's just awful about your leg lyhargr, what a terrible thing to happen, I'm so sorry.

Here's hoping that the healing time will not take much longer and you can get back to everything you like to do and everywhere you would like to go  xxx

Most people have calling number/message bank display, thus if you dont recognise the number, just dont answer the ph., if it's important enough the caller will always leave a message and you can call them back, if you wish to, save a lotta time and hassle

On my home phone, I have number displayed but my problem is some of the phone calls are legit, even if I don't recognise the number. So I compromise. If the number is from Vic, I will answer it. If it is interstate, I don't, although that can be a mistake too as some companies seem to get their interstate rep to make the calls.

I do have a smart phone but my problem is it is probably smarter than i am. Smiley Frustrated

People can leave a voice message but I have not worked out how on earth to activate voice messages. It keeps asking me to dial 101 and enter a 6 digit code but after I do dial,  there is nowhere to enter one and believe me, I have tapped all over the screen to try to make the space magically appear.

With the scam callers, I figure if I have already answered the phone so whatever I do, it isn't going to take much time out of my day.  I can either just hang up (which is what i usually do) or lead them on for 30 seconds or so. As the mood takes me.

So your mobility problems are very short term and you will probably recover completely.

My problems have been present since 1956 when I injured my knees.   I have lived with it for over 60 years and the problems will only get worse.

"I do have a smart phone but my problem is it is probably smarter than i am" ....... Woman LOL

Springyzone, that really made me smile because that's exactly my sentiments about my dumb phone, but mine is not even a "smartphone" ... I decided not to have one even though Mr. Tas keeps offering me one of my choice, any model.

The dumb phone will only ring in and ring out, has a camera (never used) and it can text but I have never done that because it really is dumb, and very difficult to text with.  So the phone is turned off and only in my bag as an "instrument of emergency" when on the highway.

I use the laptop to communicate with colleagues etc wherever I am at the time, and have a Mac and PC at home, so somehow, much to horror of friends etc, I manage without a smart phone.

It's totally understandable to me why people have them though, but for me, I just don't seem to need it.

Tas, i rarely use the mobile for calls. In fact, it rang once and when i got to it in time (which is hard to do as these things only ring briefly, not anywhere as long as a home phone-big problem with mobiles), I found I had no idea how to answer it. There was a green phone icon so you'd think if you touched that you would then be connected, but no, that's not good enough, it seems.

You've apparently got to swipe this thing.

I think it is easy to live without a smart phone. My earlier phone was a flip one. perfectly satisfactory. The only reason anyone needs a mobile phone is because public phone boxes have almost ceased to exist now, so a mobile is just there for emergency. I rarely use the phone for calls. Use it occasionally for texts. Mainly use it to connect to facebook between ads on TV, read private messages, play candy crush etc.

None of it is anywhere as satisfactory as on a large computer screen or laptop or ipad. I can't work out why some people do all their surfing on a phone, it is too tedious. And ebay to my mind is much easier on a laptop or computer, as are my other main sites (photo and photobook sites). I'm currently trying to write a family history book and you need a decent sized screen to work out layouts and proof read.

As for scammers, i rarely play mind games with them but occasionally give them a piece of my mind, which I probably shouldn't do as when it comes to working out mobiles, I can't afford to lose any of it.Smiley Very Happy
