I really don't know what to think of Dick Smith... 

on one hand I 100% agree with him and the support he shows Australian Manufacturing and farmers... 

BUT... he sold out his good name when he sold off his Dick Smith Electrical business to Woolworths... Woolies is a company that I have zero respect for.. the way they have unfair contracts with  our farmers and leave them poorer than before they signed up with them... 

He has a very good philanthropic philosophy but when he sells out to a company like woolies you think twice... 

Media should not be all in one hand but neither should our grocery stores....

Consequently his capacity for philanthropy would have been diminished.

Possibly also Woolies may not have bought his empire sans his name.

After all how many customers would have been attracted by
