notice to gumtree sellers

can you at least respond to emails (don'tcha want to sell your stuff?????) and give the option of calling a landline?

not everybody wants to blow heaps of money callin' a mobile just for an inquiry

Hi joe ..

I am thinking that sellers won't respond to emails because of the spammers getting their email addy ..
When we have sold on gt ..we have had heaps of text wanting our email address ..
Even tho we say to ring only .

Miss has had the same problem ,she has given out her email only to receive heaps of spam iykwim .

I wish they would remove the ad when they sell the item rather than leaving it there until Gumtree wipes it a month later.

Surely they get sick of the calls and emails

Gum Tree seems to attract some really bad buyers in my experience. I have not had one good experience with selling on there.

never known that to happen coz as a buyer i dont get any replies

once i made an inquiry about a portable air-cond, saved the listing to check up on it

two weeks later the add was deleted coz it sold elsewhere

seems the only way to get thru is to call the mobile, pffft

When I sell on GT I do not put an email address as a contact and in big bold letters tell them to ring me as I will not respond to text messages. It has worked in the main but you still get some that text. I make a judgement call on whether I answer a text, I am getting good at spotting scammers. lol.

We have sold a numbers of things sucessfully.

Joe one thing to remember is that a lot of people post the adds now useing a mobile and may not recieve emails.

I have sold a number of things mainly large pick up items, I am not sure if I would ring a number left in an email, I think I would ignore it.

Perhaps send a txt saying you are interested but cant afford to be ringing mobiles and give them your # that way or just ask a question that will require them to ring you

I sold my car on GT almost completely by text. Sent additional photos and handled all enquiries. The only person who consistantly rang me kept offering $1800 below the asking price. Sold it for almost advertised price three days after advertising and cheeky bugger was still ringing days later offering the lower price.
