privacy laws and centrelink?

http://www.abc.net.au/news/2017-02-27/dhs-warns-to-disclose-centrelink-recipients-history/8307958

funny whenever someone wants some info regarding a family member from centrelink you hit a brick wall.

that info is protected by privacy laws mate.

seems the department/govt can bypass the law when it suits

Veterans' personal information could be released under new powers sought by Government

http://www.abc.net.au/news/2017-03-02/government-wants-new-power-to-release-veterans-personal-info/8...

so now its veterans, who next?

will they be releasing medical records to stop legal actions?

i believe every document you supply to govt with the 'its covered by the privacy laws' is now unsafe.

when your discussing personal matters with doctors your allways informed nothing you say can be discussed outside the doctors office without consent.

rip that up.

"But the bill appears to indicate a new push to ensure the Government has the legal capability to publicly respond to those they believe are deliberately misleading the public"

That part really made me laugh coming from the very institution (politics and politicians) that has made misleading the public they are there to protect into an art form ....  Woman LOL
