funny whenever someone wants some info regarding a family member from centrelink you hit a brick wall.
that info is protected by privacy laws mate.
seems the department/govt can bypass the law when it suits

Veterans' personal information could be released under new powers sought by Government
so now its veterans, who next?
will they be releasing medical records to stop legal actions?
i believe every document you supply to govt with the 'its covered by the privacy laws' is now unsafe.
when your discussing personal matters with doctors your allways informed nothing you say can be discussed outside the doctors office without consent.
rip that up.
