I suspect he doesn't mean the bible God or he has never read the bible. I can see why Ian didn't come out earlier if his family is so religious.

one of my family/in law is gay and does not want to right to get married, he does not belive he should. What he does wish for is the equality other defactos have. He and his partner have been together for over 20 years and apparently his partner has no rights in the the event of death?

But he should.... shouldn't he.
Have rights in the event of death that is.

That is what power of attorney, enduring guardianship and wills are for 🙂

chuk - it has all changed. Defacto relationships have been recognised since 2005 (I think) and then in 2008 the Rudd Govt changed the Family Law rights so that gay couples had access to super, property, pensions etc if one of the couples died.
Marriage is one of the last legal hurdles left.

An ingaged parent has to know if their child is gay, If they dont then they are in denial.

Well, this interesting. Every so often Flake comes up with something that makes me think. She might be onto something.

Garbage. The comment is assuming that all gay people fall into a stereotype in the way they look and behave.
Whilst I agree many children show tendencies early, there is no way of picking up if a child is gay until they start showing obvious signs connected to their social network. That often doesn't happen until they are in the late teens, early 20s.
I am interested to know what 'signs' Crytal would be expecting to see in a 10 year old or even a 15 year old that targets them as gay?

Actually I remembered seeing a study where they followed the lives of kids from birthday and they could tell even as early as 2 yr old.

I knew a woman who had 7 children. She claimed that she could tell her No.5 was "different" when he was about 2 years old.
