This is what he said yesterday to a group of Liberal supporters (well who else). What a prime time goose.
And what a bunch of geese we will look when he represents us internationally.
“No one,” Tony Abbott told a Melbourne gathering of Liberal Party faithful, “however smart, however well-educated, however experienced … is the suppository of all wisdom”.

Fiona Scott, she's young, feisty and has sex appeal.

TONY Abbott has said one of his key candidates for western Sydney has a "bit of sex appeal" when asked to list her key traits.
At an event in Penrith, Mr Abbott was asked to compare Fiona Scott to Jackie Kelly who won the seat of Lindsay for the Liberal Party in 1996.
"They are young, they are feisty," Mr Abbott said.
"I think I could probably say they both have a bit of sex appeal and are just very, very connected to the local community."
That is her key trait? is she intelligent? clever? sympathetic? empathetic? ......

Ok I'll fess up.
Once when I was introducing a speaker I called her Susan Lavatory instead of Susan Laverty.
I still cringe inwardly when I think about it.
I'm glad it wasn't plastered all over the news for the press to make a meal of.
I'm sure Mr Abbott wil get over it, as all other public figures have had to get over their gaffes.

It must be hard for public figures these days, knowing any faux pas they make will be spreading its way around the country/world in nanoseconds via twitter, FB, internet, online news etc.
'Australian opposition leader Tony Abbott set social media abuzz on Monday with a memorable slip of the tongue.'

I'm interested in what a candidate has to offer the community, their stand on topics etc, not their sex appeal :0

yes, fortunately I am not in that electorate as she holds no appeal for me at all.

I wonder if he said that because he doesn't know anything at all about those candidates? Seems a very odd answer.

Goes to show what he really thinks of females.
He would never have used those words to describe a male candidate.

Foreign Minister
Prime Minister
not memory loss......... he has been both....Bit like when I call my youngest daughter by my eldest grand daughters name lol I have been both mother and grand mother
yes, however you are not the potential PM .... and no one has a microphone there
Yes, some don't get that do they? Comparing a public figure (could be the next PM of Aust soon) as opposed to what a person says in their own home or posting on a little forum etc.
May I please explain something that I myself have been getting at ? I think you may miss the points I have been trying to make.
I have been intrigued by some of the response some have had to some people having a giggle about this ...especially considering what they themselves do find funny here and post here on a daily basis ....re Polticians and other posters .It seems that they do not like even the little things (innocent mistakes) being laughed at ,commented on...when the shoe is as they say on the other foot .
comprender ?
