"Religious people are merely Victims. "

We need more understanding. Religious people are merely victims of brain-washing and indoctrination. Challenge the idea/doctrine not the people.

Discuss.

lionofjudah - Sorry, I cannot agree with you about The Man Of Sin being Jesus. 2 Thess 2:8-10 says to me that Jesus will be the one who overthrows the Man Of Sin.

Let's examine why Paul is writing to them? The Thessalonians have taken on something that Paul didn't teach them while he was there. They are teaching that the time for Jesus to return is imminent. Paul is tryinhg to tell them that they are wrong, that the time of Jesus' return is a long way off and that all these things have to happen before Jesus can return.

It is a prophecy - a long term prophecy about the times that we know are close.

The Man of Lawlessness has to be a person (or an organisation) that has not yet been fully revealed. One that will do all the things Paul describes.

"3 Don’t let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the man doomed to destruction. 4 He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshiped, so that he sets himself up in God’s temple, proclaiming himself to be God.".

The early Protestants thought that The Man Of Lawlessness was in fact the Catholic Church with The Pope proclaiming himself to be God. Others think that it may be Islam but I think it may be someone (or something) that we are not aware of yet OR maybe it is someone we know but are not aware that he will take on this role.

Sheesh.  Perspective needed, stat.
