Are you a failure in life?

Only if you view material satisfaction as the only measure of success.

What do you considder a Failure in life???

I am nearly 80, have never been finacially secure, but I have achieved much and come through very troubled times. I call myself a success in life, even without money.

Financial security only means you've been successful at making money (or perhaps inheriting or marrying money) doesnt really make you a success at life. I know plenty of wealthy people that are tossers, so I guess it depends on whether you define success as having a big bank account or being a good person.

Yes, there is more to life than monetary gain outside the home.

I know number of people who boasted of their clever investments and being financially secure.  Then one of the financial hick ups happened, and there was not much left of their "clever" investments.   Now, with interest % so low, many people who felt very secure are finding it a struggle.

I don't think Mr Elephant and I were truly financially secure until all the kids left home. And even since then then a fair bit of what might have been our  life's-little-luxuries money has gone into 'bailing out' children and grandchildren. We've had no regrets though, it's nice to know we are able to do it; and we are still able to afford  everything we need - if not  everything we want.

Do you think people who are struggling financially should have more children? What do you think of those who do?
