How would you react to this scenario?

Driving along a road you see a young boy in school uniform on his way to school waving a gun and knife at passing traffic.

Would you ignore him or take steps to ensure the gun and knife are 'toys' and not the real deal?

Over reacted IMO.

I buy my son and my girls guns....lots of family fun!
Spud guns are a fave....but the boy and the big boy are not to be trusted ( sorry to passing cars lol)
Our new fave toy is the splat gun. I'm kinda over the mess though 😕

Lots of assumptions siggie. I spoke directly with the principal, although at the time I had no idea who he was. No one laughed, least of all me. He did mention left over from Holloween, but did not laugh. I assumed (there's that word again) he thought it funny why else mention Holloween? The child in question does not live on that street....apparently he comes from the opposite side of the park to me. You can learn much when at the letter box 🙂 The distance is a short 1 k from my home to the school so yes the boy was close to school. The department rang me this afternoon for further details as the matter has been taken as serious, regardless of the gun being real or a toy. No school wishes to have students behaving in such a manner while in school uniform. Much the same as an employee in work uniform who could be sacked for unsavoury behaviour.

The boy needs to understand the implications of such actions for his own safety.

I imagined the school would take it seriously.

The Police has crime prevention workshop program for schools.  It covers a range of topics including weapons and prohibited articles.   Perhaps this will prompt the school to organise something like that.  Since there are millions of toy guns everywhere, I think parents and students should be educated about potential ramifications.

Finally, someone who understands the child's imagination and fun....kudos to you.

Perhaps not over reacting to situations  would benefit you.

After all, boys will be boys....especially with their toys.

maybe boys need to learn to be more discriminate with where they point their toys, eh?

huh?  i didn't say that.    obviously the ramifications would be in relation to toy guns that come under prohibited weapons.  I'm sorry.  I thought it was obvious. Woman Happy
