How would you react to this scenario?
Driving along a road you see a young boy in school uniform on his way to school waving a gun and knife at passing traffic.
Would you ignore him or take steps to ensure the gun and knife are 'toys' and not the real deal?

Depends on the age and metality of the kid Joz. Although it is unlikely.
Waving a replica gun around is an offense. The point is, it's a possibility.
I'm surprised that schools would allow toy guns and knives, given that some schools don't allow running, hugging, holding hands, mobile phones, giving high fives, trading footy cards etc

If I felt troubled about it I'd report it either to the school or the police. You never know what can happen.

You've reported the school?
As you nor I or anyone else at this time know the outcome and if in deed either weapons were real, your comment re me getting it wrong is ridiculous.
You have said the outcome...the school laughed, let overs from Halloween.....
Sounds like you just got a fright.

At the time I notified the school the child had not yet arrived! 🙂 The school should have taken is seriously according to the police who will follow up.

cruising around my usual haunts in my car on a friday or saturday night, like most teens did or do
i bloke pulled a gun at me coz i dragged him off
dunno if it was real or not, but this was no kid - being an adult i thought it inappropriate, took is plate number down and reported it to the police, if it was a kid in the back seat i wouldnt have been bothered by it
i simply said to the police he pointed a gun at me what seemed to be for no reason at all
i never heard the outcome of it though

Would you call the school, or the police?
Whatever popped into my head first depending how real I perceived the danger was.

I would be alarmed simply by what he was doing.
I would call the school, if they thought it was funny and did not say they would investigate, I would call police, especially if the gun OR the knife was not obviously a toy.
The public are not allowed to carry knives. (or guns)
