Ah yes. An 'alternative funding model'. Like perhaps, go find a rich media tycoon willing to support your research (as if!). Or, instead of doing the research, the scientists can use their time to lobby biased industry groups into supplying money in return for who knows what.
And wasn't that the same wording they used before the Howard Government slashed funding to universities and told them to treat campuses like business?

I personally can't wait to see what kind of relationship he has to dveleop with the Greens in order to get his 'policies' through...lol at all the suckers who went hysterical because Gillard negotiated expertly with the Greens and minor parties.

Alternative funding model ususally means they have to find their own from the private sector.
it means they have a chinese company ready to buy it up.

what it means is he knows he cannot keep the promise. its a year until he can put it to the senate. he's failed already
