staffies and greyhound owners

I was wondering if anyone has these dogs as pets,if so do you find them nice dogs?

I had a little mini foxie who passed 12 weeks ago at 19. I got a beautiful old boy corgi x on gumtree 10 weeks ago as I was awfully depressed with no doggie friend for company. On Friday I came home to find he had passed away in my bed,he had made a huge difference  to my life just in the 10 weeks I had him.

Now I am looking for another,this time not so old as I am just shattered loosing 2 in 3 months.I am currently  not able to afford the$ 450 or so for a smallish  dog I would prefer but  I see there are quite a few staffies desexed and free on offer and also a couple of greyhounds. Im thinking I may have to consider a bigger dog in order to get some company .

I live near lots of river parkland and walk my dogs about 45 to 120 min a day and they live inside with full access to a fenced yard.

I have always thought staffies an aggressive dog but iv met a couple and they seemed nice so im wondering if one may be ok...

greyhounds were another I heard were lounge lizzards that dont eat much   but somehow I worry if they are safe either?

I dont drive so a german sheppard or Labrador is out as the food would be to hard to carry. 

Staffies seem to be very common on the rescue sites and im worried as to why...

i have a cat so that worries me a bit with a greyhound, i rang about a grayhound and the owner was kind enough to say no way with a cat that greyhounds and cats never mix.

any thoughts from owners?

I thought about it, but then, we have a Burmese choc torti just like yours who already knows all about knives and forks ..

Well 1 month on Violet has settled in well. She is learning to respect the cat courtesy of being attacked a few times,she still wants to play with him but backs of if he gets cranky. He has learned to stand up to her and thats what she needed.

She still follows me everywhere  but accepts  me going out to work as long as she has her toys. 

She is gaining  weight but still madness in action when playfull., she loves her walks and always  takes a toy for me to toss repeatedly, she seems very proud to walk with a toy in her mouth  and has several that have to be collected  up and put surounding her several times a day.

she has become very confident in meeting other dogs and people and overall  is a very good dog socialy . They are just so good emotionally dogs they keep you busy as its all about being social in their world  so you are a big part of that.

she is spread out on her back in front of the heater tonight with her head on my leg , Every half hour or so she nudges me for a belly rub.

Oscar is just next to her and they are ignoring  each other ,so nice and relaxing for all of us

sounds like you have a forever pal there.

it took a while before foo and rosie would be touching each other but its so good when you look over and see them together.

in this home its the cat thats the crazy run around one, nothing like seeing her race through the house and leap over foo as he is asleep and he doesnt even take notice.
