I have 3..........27yrs, 25yrs & 20yr. old.

Very close to the 27yr. old girl.

Dont see the 25yr old, since she got married a couple of yrs. ago.......she doesnt see any of her family.

20yr. old boy.......dont see much of him these days, but we get on alright now, never use to.

Personally I believe blended families can be wonderful especially when all adults try hard to enable a great relationship between the children and step parents.

I have several friends who are step parents. One has a great relationship with her step daughter of 9.....it's the mother that is the problem 😞

Another, both girls now very much dislike going to the fathers and scream when made to go (court orders). The step mother has made their life miserable. The father should be man enough to think of the children first but he doesn't 😞 My friend once said "he thinks with the wrong head" 😮

Those who say they couldn't relate to step children....what if your children become step parents? Would you not welcome the children? Children are not to blame.

Watched this thing on the super nanny about that last night, I felt so sorry for that little girl who was the husbands step daughter 😞 Poor kid.

It's really sad when some people see children as a threat.......

I have no stepchildren or stepgrandies......  but I was a stepchild. My position was secure as I was a bit older than my half siblings but my brothers suffered for it.

I think stepchildren could possibly be a very difficult thing to deal with. You are not a blood parent, you come into a childs life usually after a divorce that can be upsetting, you really have no authority over the child.... not an easy thing to do... 

I probably would not date anyone with a child under the age of 15 (same as my youngest)...
