Seems this thread has devolved into exactly what the OP was talking about.
Yep, pretty much. A bit of ganging up against one poster, and another typing in a psuedo English 'accent' with their 'aves. ougha', 'wit', goin etc. I can't understand that one. Yes people do talk in such accents but when they type, they type in normal English.
The purpose of my post wasn't to really grieve so much about the past but to mourn the loss of the entertaining and fun people who used to post here. Obviously years have gone by and people move on but certainly there wasn't the amount of political discussions happening in the past.
There were amusing threads about strange families, pets, neighbours, jokes, the weird and wacky goings on in the news {not involving politics} and some posters were very good at starting up such threads which got people involved and didn't dissolve into nastiness.
If anything this thread has proved a point. At some stage it will turn into an attack on someone who posts on here, bringing up what was said previously.
Oh well.
Might stick to the Whirlpool forums, a bit more variety there and hardly a political thread in sight and no one threatening to share screenshots about someone or 'ganging' up on another. The moderators seem to nip things in the bud fairly quickly there.
