HEATWAVE: Bendigo swelters through another hot day

UPDATE WEDNESAY: The temperature is again soaring.

According to the Bendigo Bank clock, it was 42 degrees at 12.01pm. 

By 12.17pm, that had soared to 44 degrees.

I read that it had grown, but I dont remember how much.......

In Sth Aust.....there is a fire burning in/near Eden Valley.......I have rellies living around that area.....they would have left and gone elsewhere.

just hit 40 here. expecting 50km winds with the change, there has been more than 100,000 hectares comined burnt over here

There's not much in the way of wind here yet & I think they said our temp in Melb. Won't be dropping until about 9 tonight
that's looking like a bad fire around Hall's gap, I hope there is no more loss of life.

Not till tonight they said DDB the temp will drop 10 degrees when the change comes through. I wish it was 20 degrees lol

The firies have been doing a fantastic job Chuk, so many fires in both states and they managed to get most under control pretty quickly

A PERSON has died and properties have been hit as a massive out-of-control bushfire tears through the Grampians.

Police said the death happened "as a result of the fires" and would be investigated by the arson squad.

Residents in several communities have been advised to leave for a friend's house or nearby Hamilton before conditions become too dangerous.
