The only general purpose batteries I've bought from China which have been even remotely reliable have been GreenForce NiZn 1.8V rechargeable AA & AAA cells (require a special charger) for my digital camera. I've tried cheap NiCd & NiMh 1.2V cells and they invariably fail to hold a charge after fewer than 10-15 recharges and I ended up having to throw them out.

I've also had excellent results with 18650 Lithium 3.7V Ultrafire batteries for use in flashlights, but they're a fairly specialised size and voltage battery and can't normally be used in anything else.

For normal AA & AAA 1.5V Alkaline batteries though, you won't do much better than buying a pack of 30 Arlecs from Bunnings for under $10 and they last just as long as Everready's and Duracells which cost 2 or 3 times as much.

I find there are usually 2 batterry ratings....Real ones and Chineese ones.

A generic or so called Ultrafire 18650 rated ar 3000mAh, works out closer to 300mAh, about 10 minutes use in a T6 torch if you are lucky.

Nih in AA or AAA works out the same...

Still you get what you pay for.

You really need to pay about 5 times more if you want the real thing with a brand name, whether it be from China or elsewhere..

No you can't.

I bought a headlamp recently supposedly 5000 lumens (misleading/fraudulent claim) and 4 extra batteries as 2 of them supposedly give me 2 hours run time (again misleading as it more like 60 mins).

Batteries are Tinko 18650,s and 4 of them took one charge and promptly died..they don't charge at all and hold zero charge...dead dead is what they are.

Battery charger thats supplied with the headlamp is cheap ass rubbish that probably has overcharged the batteries.

So anything that comes out of china is over rated by the manufacturer and I would if I were you not buy any Lithium batteries called Tinko or Ultrafire or any battery of any type from china.

Can't go past eneloop rechargeable Low self discharge in AA and AAA.
They are more expensive but a very good long term.
