I'm thinking of buying a wireless printer, mainly as I'm sick of all the wires hanging down from my desk. I figure that if I can remove one or two wires that will be a help.
But how do wireless printers work?
I'm assuming that the printer gets plugged into the power socket in the usual way, but instead of a wire connecting the printer to the comp, you'd have a receiver. So this would be the same idea as you have for the wireless keyboard and mouse
If this is the case, my question would be how far from the receiver should the printer be? Because of space constraints, my printer is on a different desk to the comp and the distance between them is about 1.5 metres. is this too far?

hi
ours is in the loungeroom and the computor we use it for is in the back bedroom
so about 10+metres away at least minimum and we have no issues with it
hope this helps tara

Just to add a note about distance. My printer is wireless running on the house wi-fi system. The signal travels to and from a router that is 15 meters away. No problems.
Best wishes
