any warranty on eBay is only as good as the seller's honesty, unless it is bought from an official supplier it will not have the official warranty (in most cases). Sometimes, the company that made the product will help you out of goodwill.
but best to buy electrical goods where you get the official warranty, so bricks and mortar store, the official online store, or an authorised supplier here.
if it is within 45 days of payment with Paypal, you can open an item not as described case. If funded with a credit card try a chargeback if it is longer than that.
talk to the seller first, but don't let your buyer protection time run out if you still have it.
