GIGGLE - Grace had to swallow a giggle one morning when she saw Rufus performing a somersault over the dahlias , only to be imitated by Bailey who couldn’t quite work out what this strange manoeuvre was, landing smack bang in the middle of the garden bed with a dahlia dangling over one eye.

ENTERTAINMENT - Besides being good company for one another, Rufus and Bailey definitely provided great entertainment, and always brought a smile to Grace's face.

TREMULOUS - The phone rang; both Rufus and Bailey gave a small bark as Grace looked down at her screen and saw that it was Lydia Chalmers’ number, which caused her to grimace as she’d not had the chance to speak with her neighbour since that rather embarrassing scene the other day, and she answered in a rather tremulous tone with “Hello, Lydia…?”

THANKFUL - Grace was so thankful to hear that Lydia had no problem with either Rufus or Bailey that she actually forgot her embarrassment and invited Lydia to come over for a cuppa that afternoon.

LAMINGTON - Knowing how much Lydia liked a lamington with her coffee, Grace decided to do some baking while the dogs looked on with interest – in Bailey’s case, going on his hind legs to get a better view while Rufus curled up at her feet while she was mixing the ingredients.

GRUMBLES - As Bailey’s weight came down on Rufus’ tail, Rufus gave a yelp and pulled away, turning abruptly while a confused Bailey darted around him with little grumbles of apology; Grace abandoned the baking momentarily and gave Rufus a comforting hug and a “There, there”, adding Bailey to the hug after a few moments.

EGG - Bailey must have wanted that hug to continue, because after Grave had washed her hands and continued with the recipe, Bailey jumped up against her with a “play with me” bark, which led to an egg slipping from her hands and falling splat onto the ground, and that led to Rufus uttering s delighted “woof!” and licking up the egg contents.
