TELEPHONE - Grace decided to go ahead and order the gazebo. Reaching for the telephone she rang the number that was on the brochure but it was busy. Looking at Rufus & Bailey she shrugged her shoulders and went inside to get some lunch. Later in the day she rang again but was still busy! What was going on?

EXPLAINED - Scrolling through the news on her phone, Grace read that a certain telecommunications provider was experiencing an outage, which probably explained her inability to get through on the phone.

DOZEN - When she finally got through, the staff member exclaimed, “We’ve had a dozen or more calls telling us that it was impossible to get through - I’m so sorry, some sort of technical glitch - Can I help you?”

NEXT - Grace was glad that she had finally got through to the operator when she heard her say next and was hung up on!! That was it, there would be no more gazebo. Grace was getting angry and the dogs put their heads on her lap which eased Grace.

TAPIOCA - While she fumed, Grace made some tapioca pudding with vanilla, and ate it in large annoyed spoonfuls - which made her more annoyed as she calculated the carbs in that, and that was the gazebo company’s fault too!

AWFUL - Grace was upset that something she had been excited about had ended up being such an awful experience, but decided to stop fuming and focus on something positive - the upcoming day trip to Phillip Island with her daughter.

LILAC - There was just time to take the dogs out to the nearby tiny park with its wide spreading oak next to the seesaw and picnic table, and after changing her shirt to a comfortable lilac stretch top, Grace reached it within 4 minutes at a brisk walking pace with Rufus and Bailey running happily beside her; what a wonderfully beneficent calm came upon her as she stood under the silent branches broadly stretching above her head.

COCKATOO - The calm was shattered by the loud cry of a cockatoo (and several of its mates) flocking in to land on the sturdy branches of the beautiful oak tree.

OVER - After flying over the cockatoos landed on Grace`s washing line and began chewing on the metal. Bailey & Rufus started to bark at them and all of a sudden they flew off.

ROOM - As Grace looked around her back yard full of trees and plants, with plenty of room for the dogs to run around and play, she found herself feeling quite pleased that she wouldn't be building a gazebo after all.
