GREEN - Grace narrowly avoided being hit as the light turned green and she drove through the intersection at the foot of a small slope, for a car shot through their red light right in front of her with a squeal of tyres - prompting Grace to mutter “And I’ll bet it’s teens driving a stolen car.”

NEVER - Grace arrived home safely sat on her comfy sofa and thought over what had happened today. She had never had an experienced like that before and to make her feel better Rufus and Bailey gave her lots of attention!

ROLLED - The two dogs sniffed each other, and although Rufus did give a little growl when Bailey attempted to jump onto “his” chair, they were actually getting on beautifully, and with a little play-fight, they rolled over and over with small play-nips before they sat on their haunches, sniffing each other again and making snuggling sounds.

DOGS - Grace was inside knitting a rather colorful blanket for her dogs when all of a sudden the sun came out as the rained had stopped, so she decided to sit outside.

SUNSCREEN - Before going outside, Grace was careful to slather herself with sunscreen lotion and then donned her sunglasses and a flattering Italian straw hat; then it was time to protect Rufus and Bailey with doggy sunwipes - which Rufus ignored (as he was used to it) but Bailey set up a howling protest!

NEVER - Sitting under the large magnolia tree and admiring their beautiful blooms , Grace had time to think and she realised before getting Bailey Rufus had never howled. What a good boy you are!

RESPECT - Grace plucked one of the magnolia blossoms and placed it on the little iron wrought table next to her on which she had her tea, then looked firmly at Bailey with a “Let’s cut out the howling, Bailey, as we want the next-door neighbours to know that we respect their privacy! See how polite Rufus is being? He can show you so much! Good dogs!”

TEACHING - After a month of teaching Bailey not to howl Grace noticed a big improvement in him. The neighbour when she saw Grace smiled and said that Baileys howling was much better. Things were looking up for them all!
