The Ups and Downs of Synonyms (New Game)

I hope this new game will be fun...

In this new game, you have to select a word from the sentence of the previous poster and write a new sentence with a synonym of that word that is either longer or shorter than the original word.

The next poster then chooses a new word from your sentence, selects a synonym of that word that is either longer or shorter and writes a new sentence, and so on.

For example:

- She liked to spend a lot of time at the library, reading old books and pondering about life.

The next poster chooses a word, for example old, and a synonym of a different length, for example elderly, and then writes a new sentence.

- He visited his elderly brother in his tiny apartment and listened to some nice, relaxing music with him.

And so on...

- When she entered the shop that seemed to have magically appeared overnight, she had a strange feeling of déjà vu, even if she was sure she had never seen it before, let alone entered it.

CREPT - Being careful to not wake his grandparents, he tiptoed softly down the stairs, avoiding those treads that had a habit of creaking loudly, and sneaked out through the kitchen door to meet his mates at the local skate park, where they were sure to get up to some very enjoyable mischief.

AVOIDING - Damien Demlyn had experienced terrible losses in his life, the pain of which had precipitated some reckless behaviour and bad decisions; now, in the aftermath of having survived the terrorist attack in the mall, he had a new hunger to live a better life, which meant eschewing those associates who had lured him into a meaningless lifestyle.

DECISIONS - She thought visiting the regional food fair had been a great idea, until she looked around and realised there were so many stalls showcasing delicious food, and that she would have to make her choices carefully, as there was no way she could taste everything that appealed to her unless she wanted to collapse on the ground in a delirious food coma.

COMA - Pretty little Snow White took a bite of the enticingly red apple, but that one bite was enough to see the evil queen’s wicked plan come to fruition, for with a helpless cry, Snow White slid onto the floor and fell into unconsciousness while the queen in her old crone disguise cackled fiendishly.

ENOUGH - Studying her several bank accounts, each of which were meant to be used for different savings goals, she was delighted to discover that she had sufficient funds to pay for the beautiful burgundy winter coat she had seen in the window of an up-market store, so - ignoring all the prosaic things she had been saving for (like the new fridge she so desperately needed) - she transferred all her money into her spending account, and raced out to buy that very expensive (but very beautiful) coat.

SAVING - The faint cry had come from his left; he wasted not an instant as he scrambled over the rocks along the path that swept dangerously close to the edge of the cliff, where the figure had been standing just seconds previously, and he knew that would need to use all of his skill and strength if he were to have any chance of rescuing the stranger.

DANGEROUSLY - She breathed a huge sigh of relief after discovering that little Jimmy was safe after seeing him perilously close to the busy highway.

SIGH - The gilded eyelids of the world-weary dancer came down over her cynical eyes, and she let out a bored exhalation fogged with cigarette smoke; I coughed and took a step back, realising that I wasn’t going to get anything helpful from this hardboiled dame regarding the stabbing victim slumped over his table in front of the bar.

SLUMPED - As she hurried through the underpass, she couldn't help but notice the figures sitting against the walls, many of them hunched over under old worn blankets, trying to warm themselves in temperatures cold enough to cause their breath to visibly fog as they exhaled.
