I accidentally signed up for eBay plus while placing an order. They did not send me any reminder email to cancel the membership otherwise I'll be charged. Now they have charged me for the membership (I've used eBay on a handful of times in my entire life) which I'm never gonna use.
I've been on chat with them for more than 1.5 hours now and they are refusing to give me my money back. Feels like they are robots, copying and pasting the same thing again and again. They don't understand what a person is saying.
Now I've lost my money for something that I don't use and will never ever use.
I agree with papermoon, any Free Trial offer (on or off eBay) will advise as you sign up that you need to cancel within xxxx or relevant charges will apply, it is up to you to read those T&C's and to cancel in a timely manner.
eBay are not required to issue a refund in this case.
When somebody signs up to any trial, even accidentally, it is a good idea to set one's own reminder (on your own computer...) Did they send you an email when you signed up?
Quite a few members seem to have had this problem, so maybe if someone managed to cancel and get their money back, they can explain here how they did it, but unfortunately in most cases I don't think they will be successful...
