Ebay has charged me for their microdeposits twice. Are they trying to make money like a scam?

I had two microdeposits made into my account totaling $0.09 then two charges to my account by ebay of $0.09 (totalling $0.18). Seems like a corporate scam where ebay is trying to make money by overcharging people when they reverse the microdeposits. Because its such a small amount most people wouldnt be bothered to chase it up…

neo.  I'll donate 9 cents to save you the hassle.  dont think a law firm will take on Ebay for 9 cents

They have done a same thing to me. Seems like there may be an error in their system but if they are debiting and extra 9c for every customer that verifies their account, they may be liable for a class action lawsuit. I have made several complaints but just get the run around and no resolution.

Using microdeposits

Alternatively, you can verify your account using two microdeposits (small payments) sent to your linked bank account.

Here's how to verify your account using microdeposits:

  1. Sign in to Seller Hub or My eBay.
  2. Select the banner to verify your bank account.
  3. Select Verify with microdeposits.
  4. Once they've reached your account (1-3 business days), sign in to Seller Hub or My eBay.
  5. Select the banner to verify your bank account and enter the microdeposit amounts.

It can take up to 3 business days for microdeposits to reach your account, and we'll email you to confirm they've arrived. The microdeposits will be withdrawn from your bank account within a few days.
