GREGH42 IS NOT MY SITE

I have been known as Gregaryus since 2006. I tried to log on by using my Google account and somehow it came up with Gregh42 which I never created. I need to delete this page and get back to the real sight. How do I delete this nonsense.

You are on the real site (as in eBay)

Sign out and then

Sign in with your normal username/email address and password instead of using any of the other options listed

You might near to clear cache/cookies in between

Otherwise, you will need to contact eBay

Personally I would never use Google to sign into anything, I would sign in directly to any site I needed to.

That aside, how could you have possibly signed into that account if you didn't create it ?  Because if you didn't create it you wouldn't have known the password for it.

OP, you’ve inadvertently created a new account by signing with Google. See this link below which explains how people can now “sign in” with Google, Facebook or Apple social media accounts, as well as with username/password, email address/password, and phone no./password. Only the latter methods of logging in will actually log you in to your existing account.

As you can see, if your original account uses the same email address that you use for your google/gmail account, you’ll be prompted to enter your google password to link your new eBay account with your existing eBay account.

That help page above also explains how to link the accounts even if the associated email addresses are not the same. Quoting:

If you already have an eBay account, you can link it to your social accounts:

1. Go to Sign-in and security.
2. Go to Social sign-in and select Edit next to Facebook, Google or Apple.

I’m pointing this on the interests of clarity, NOT because I think linking your eBay account to a Google or Facebook or Apple account is a good idea. For the record, I consider it a bad idea. It’s just handing over additional consolidated private information about yourself.

If you haven’t bought anything with the google-generated eBay account, and if your eBay email account is different from your google email account, you can close that second account without affecting your original eBay account:

Serious question countess,  but wouldn't a new Google  created  / generated account show as a new account ?

Maybe from the last time the OP signed in via Google (which created the account back then?) Don't know on that score, I have no reason and no desire to sign into eBay any way other than using my username and password

The date may indicate that the same email address applies.

Alternatively, the OP’s signed in via Google before.
