I added some items to a collection but I can't find where to see that collection. help?

some item can be added to lists but some can only be added to collections. so I added some items to a collection but I can't find where to see that collection. can someone please explain to me where can I find it? and also, can someone please explain the difference between items that can be added to lists and those that cannot be?
