I have a password etc but its asking to put my telephone number and it wont let me as I put my home

I put my home phone number and ebay cannot send a pin on it and It ask me for the pin which is phone number.which i did put the +64 09 4180006 which is NZ . As the ordiary phone will not take a pin why carnt I get a email for the pin
It wont let put tyhe number into the phone number space and it only four numbers. And as I havent got the pin I carnt go on Ebay .
