I have an overdue bull for a sold Samsung on my account in 2017. I was not using my account then, and my email address has been closed.
There is an overdue bill of $80, eBay says I need to pay it to get my seller rights back. I have tried to argue with eBay over this as I should not be charged for this fee as it was not my sale.
Anyways, I cannot update my personal email as eBay sends a message to my email that was a close GMAIL account. Anyways, so all I get are errors saying, whoops that's embarrassing, something went wrong.
eBay cannot change any of my records, and when I go to the payment link they send me, it says a link will be sent to my email in 3 days, but again I don't have access to the email.
eBay on the phone said it would go to both eBay message and email, the person who responds by eBay message says it will only go to email.
Its like eBay has no clue how to fix issues and they are blind to their own policies.
How can I get this bill paid to get my seller rights back?
"I have an overdue bull for a sold Samsung on my account in 2017. I was not using my account then"
That's exactly the sort of item that a hijacker would list on an account.
Have you been able to log in as normal since your return to eBay ?
I suggest you change your password and run all your virus protection.
"eBay on the phone said it would go to both eBay message and email"
I would have thought this was correct.
As you're prepared to pay the bill, try going to eBay Help at the top of the page.
Follow the prompts until you get to the automated assistant then ask to speak to a supervisor.
As you've already been told 2 different stories from phone help, hopefully the supervisor will have a bit more knowledge and be able to help you.
Be sure to explain the situation very clearly.
You made no mention of a debt collector in your opening post, only that you 've been given different stories in regards to where ebay notifications would be sent.
You were possibly hijacked and you've been clicking links that go nowhere ?
Did you take ANY of my advice and / or directions ?
You have nothing to lose by contacting a supervisor through eBay Help as I've already advised.
"clicking all the links they tell me".
Sorry , as you seem to have taken none of my advice, I can see why your account was probably hijacked and to be honest, there's a good chance it'll happen again.
Also, my advice was to contact a supervisor through eBay Help at the top of the page , as phone help's been giving you different stories regarding notifications.
Good Luck with solving your problem
