mobile number or landline not recognised no confirmation call

I recently have a second phone and wanted to use it for ebay. I tried changing my mobile number under Personal Information and under Addresses. Correct format, correct country site. But the confirmation page never came up. I did manage to change it to my home phone just to test it since my mobile wasn't working, but still I received no confirmation call. Worst still I couldn't change it back! Not at the moment at least, I don't know what I've done. This mobile number is an old Virgin Australia number which is a company that has shut down, but I transferred it to another phone company. Would this create a problem for ebay? All my other services that require mobile number is working fine though. Besides trying my landline, I also tested it using my daughter's mobile and she received the confirmation code. We are using the same phone company. Thanks in advance.
