Changing/Updating sold item's package dimensions.....

Hi all.

I've sold my 1st item. I had to repackage my item to make it safer but now the package dimensions & weight have slightly changed.
Is it possible for me to adjust the package dimensions on the item description/listing iteself?
I'm trying to use Interparcel with my Ebay account intergrated, but Interparcel is referring to my original/slightly wrong package dimensions & I can't seem to edit the package dimensions in Ebay to stay to the updated dimensions.

Also I'm aware that within Ebay's Orders section I can change the dimensions & weight at the Purchase Postage Label page but I'm having problems using Ebay's built-in shipping methods including Sendle as it gives the dreaded & popular error of ""Something went wrong and we were not able to generate the label."

I even tried the online live chat help & they tried a few different ways of adjusting the address but the error persisted.

So that's out of the question now as I've already wasted hours of precious time so I've already chosen Interparcel.com.au & have integrated my Ebay account with them.

The problem is in Interparcel.com when I "Fetch" my order directly from Ebay, it's going off the original/slightly wrong package dimensions, which is why I'm asking if there's a way to change/update it from Ebay's side.

Appreciate your time,

Thanks!

Changing/Updating sold item's package dimensions.....

No idea. I have no idea what interparcel is, much less what they do. I prefer to use the KISS method, which 3rd party 'fulfillment' certainly doesn't include.

If you're in Australia, posting to Australia, and your items comply, use Australia Post. It is a huge mistake to try to save a couple of bucks on postage, even if you pass on the savings (haha).

No, you can't change anything after you have sold the item. The sale is as it was at the time of purchase, including postage, not when you do a minimum of due diligence.

Just send it and cop any loss as a lesson on doing your homework.

When I was starting out, I would take my items to the PO first to see what packaging was required with the total weight and then just enter the base tracked postage price they told me. If it needed a box, I would factor in the box price and the postage itself. Never hassled with dimensions of anything - just weight and the Aus Post boxing or satchel.

Much easier to do this before listing!

You're a complete novice at this and I think you are going to come unstuck in a major way by using Interparcel. Most of us have probably never heard of them and third party shippers ALWAYS have more issues than Australia Post.

What was the item number what you sold? I can't see anything under your sold listings unless it was under another account. If we can see what it was and how much you charged for shipping we can guide you further. It may just mean that you take it to the PO, pack it up there, hand write the address and mail it.

Wow. Actually some pretty condescending replies there, if you're going to haver any sort of attitude then please don't bother replying to me. Read my post, I was polite, I said Thanks & making it aware that I'm a novice, you know, "New To Ebay"?  Are you aware this section of forums you're browsing is literally called "New To Ebay". I get it, you're professionals who have a very high IQ level regarding posting items, congratulations.

Just because you haven't heard of Interparcel, that doesn't automatically mean they are bad or non-legit.

Also to just assume that I'm just out here trying to save dollars on shipping is absurd especially considering you don't know any of the details of the shipping method. In fact the contrary, I'm re-imbursing my buyer $50 just because I sold my item much quicker than expected, on top of this the buyer paid for standard shipping, I updated to Express shipping at no extra cost. So no, I'm not just trying to "save a couple of bucks on postage".

""Just send it and cop any loss as a lesson on doing your homework.""

Are you a child? I DID do my homework, it's 2021, there shouldn't be much homework to ship a box. Let me repeat this important part you decided to ignore to help you understand. If you bothered to read my post, I specifically mentioned I tried Ebay's built-in shipping,  "but I'm having problems using Ebay's built-in shipping methods including Sendle as it gives the dreaded & popular error of ""Something went wrong and we were not able to generate the label."

I even tried the online live chat help & they tried a few different ways of adjusting the address but the error persisted.""

Like I said I tried Ebay's built-in shipping which is Australia Post for me by default, also tried Sendle, same error.

Again you keep assuming conclusions to yourself, but again, I did do my homework, I knew how to ship, I knew how to "Purchase Postage Label", how am I supposed to know magically that it's not going to work when I sell my item because even Ebay technical support themselves could not fix the issue & said it was due to technical difficulties?

""You're a complete novice at this and I think you are going to come unstuck in a major way by using Interparcel. Most of us have probably never heard of them and third party shippers ALWAYS have more issues than Australia Post.""

Your social & comunication skills really need to be worked on. YES I'm a complete novice at this, you truly are a genious. Let me remind you, you're browsing in the forums section called "New To Ebay".

Were you a professional with your 1st package?  Were you forced to use another shipping method outside of Ebay due to Ebay technical difficulties & consistent errors when trying to Purchase Postage Labels?

Did you magically become a professional after your 1st shipment?  My god.

Even though I originally tried Ebay's Australia Post & Sendle, there is nothing wrong with Interparcel at all, my cousin uses them for his company & has been for years. MANY other people also use Interparcel. Productreview.com is one that shows them at a very good rating with many happy sellers & buyers. Again just because you haven't used a certain service or company before it doesn't automatically make them a bad choice.

In fact at the end of the day, Ebay's didn't work for me but Interparcel worked instantly, & it had zero problems with the buyer's address. I'd rather something just work instantly & not get consistent errors which wasted hours of my time, wouldn't you?

Again I mentioned already in my original post, the ONLY problem I was having with Interparcel is that I didn't know how to adjust my weight/dimensions of my Ebay order, that's it. You both instead came in here high on your horses talking down at me about I should do my homework & cop the loss, & saving bucks, & how I'm such a novice in a novice forum, really sad.

Please don't bother replying, what good is that?  I'll work it out on my own, I don't need you, I was just hoping to fasten the process of working it out by asking politely in this "New To Ebay" forum because you know, I'm new.

So the uptake from your novel is that I have a  higher IQ than you. A given.

What you fail to realise is that your problem is only applicable to the significant minority who use interparcel.

AND you can't add extra postage costs post-sale.

Which I mentioned earlier.

Again you done what you seem to be really good at, skimming through posts thinking you read everything.

I said "very high IQ level regarding posting items", interpret it how you like if it helps you sleep.

Where did I say I wanted to add extra postage costs post-sale?  I said the contrary, I reimbursed the buyer $50 & also upgraded the shipping to Express at no extra cost. Do you understand English?

Interparcel being used significant minority or not has no relevance at all as to what I'm saying, what IS relevant is that Ebay shipping was giving errors, it's a VERY popular error if you google it actually, it was impossible to go ahead with shipping within Ebay, do you understand this?  Would you like me to rephrase it as though I'm speaking to a minor to help you understand?

If you're such a professional, then why are you using your time & energy to talk down to people & assume things with your own answers & ignore the details?  What are you even doing looming around in this "New To Ebay" section ?  Why are you here?  Why not use that energy & knowledge you have regarding shipping etc in a productive way & actually HELP ?  If you're not going to help then please, go occupy yourself with something a bit more amusing rather than hanging around here.

It's ok I'll work it out, the world will still spin finely with or without you.

Nobody here can help you because nobody uses Interparcel.

Well, maybe a few do, but this is the first time many of us have seen it mentioned.

I guess that just because Ebay offers it, doesn't mean it integrates successfully with this platform.

I mean, why not just use Aus Post and not complicate things?

I had a look at the product review website and whilst they do have a lot of good reviews, there are some pretty damning  ones too.

Perhaps don't worry about printing a label and just take it to Aus Post tomorrow and post it anyway. You have the shipping covered, so at least you can get the parcel on its way.

And trust me, even though you say this is 2021, and you shouldn't need to do any homework to send a box.....well, these platforms are not as simple as they seem, especially when they start promoting third party shippers. Plenty of tears and drama on these forums from sellers in that regard.
