Australia Post - Maximum Girth for Domestic Parcels?

Today Australia Post wanted to refuse my domestic parcel (same state) because it was too large based on 'girth' (?!)

I carefully measured the weight and dimensions according to the Australia Post Shipping Calculator. According to the calculator, the box was perfectly fine as it did not exceed the max length of 105cm. Dimensions: 60x41x53 (cm). Weight: 6.1kg. The packages volume was 0.13m3 (the maximum allowed is 0.25m3).

After making my point the reluctantly accepted my parcel but said that most likely, they won't deliver it and will return it to me... My point is that there is not max. girth limit for domestic parcels, based on Australia Post's info that is publicly available. Did anyone else encounter this problem?
