Delivery delay of scam?

I Purchased an item from China.
Paid on the 15th of last month. The shipping number will not show up on the China post web site.

Seller said wait a few weeks.

Is this reasonable or is this a way to send me past the 45 paypal days.

I notice the sames items are now 3 times the price.

I was wondering if an item was accidentally undersold, could the "lost in the post" be a way of getting out of supplying by just refunding the money etc?
