I sold a leather handbag and it's been lost by Australia Post. After lengthy investigation they have said they're not sure what happened to it, even thought it was traced to the delivery driver. Do I compensate for something that was outside my control? They suggested I make sure people pay extra for signage and insurance in future. I feel bad for the buyer but I don't want to be out of pocket either. The bag cost $31 and the postage was app. $10.
