Is anyone else having to wait a long time for their parcel to get through customs?

Because of the public holidays recently is it sensible enough to say that clearing a parcel through customs will take longer than usual?

My tracking through ups says "Upon successful customs clearance, your parcel will be given to (example) Couriers who we use for local delivery to your address. Their tracking number is " ETC 

That was on:

Mon. 2 Jan

The expected delivery date ebay has provided was yesterday, but parcel seems to be held up at Customs.

Postage was free.

Where to from here / what can I expect?
